Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we have suspended all of our face-to-face work, in line with Government guidance to help reduce the virus.
The team is working really hard and offering phone support to carers, as well as providing support on other platforms such as social media, WhatsApp, and Zoom.
Some of our group members want to stay in touch with each other and have been using technology for socially-distant meet-ups, while others have been accessing online activities through Kind Mind Community, the recovery college in South Tyneside: www.kindmindcommunity.org.
We might not be able to meet up face-to-face, but there’s still lots going on in South Tyneside. If you care or support someone with a mental health issue and you feel lonely or isolated, or have issues you would like to discuss, or you need some information or support, please get in touch – we’re here to help you.
Our main role is to give individual support and information, to help you support your family member or friend – and to look after yourself in the process. Whilst most of our contact is one-to-one, either face-to-face or over the phone, we do have opportunities to meet up with others as a break for yourself or an opportunity for mutual support.
